Our Mission

Some publications tell you what to think.
We'd rather help you think better.

The Relevant Leader exists at the intersection of faith and contemporary life — the place where your convictions meet your Monday morning, where theological depth actually has to show up in how you lead, love, and live.

We started because we were tired of two things: faith content that had nothing to say to the world, and cultural commentary that had nothing to say about faith. There's a whole community of people who don't fit neatly into either camp — leaders, pastors, parents, artists, organizers, and thinkers who take their faith seriously and their world seriously. We write for them. We write for you.

What you'll find here

We're accessible without being shallow. We're challenging without being preachy. We believe that good writing changes people — not because it tells them what to do, but because it helps them see what's true.

Over 15,000 leaders, pastors, creatives, and thinkers read The Relevant Leader every week. They're across denominations and traditions, across generations, across the country. What they share is a conviction that faith and culture are not enemies.

  • Essays that wrestle honestly with hard questions — without manufacturing easy answers
  • Cultural analysis that takes faith seriously without being preachy or defensive
  • Leadership insights rooted in character and conviction, not just strategy and tactics
  • Justice perspectives that are practical, hopeful, and community-rooted
  • Real talk about doubt, burnout, hard marriages, complicated families, and the gap between who you want to be and who you are on a Tuesday
  • A weekly podcast that goes deep with the leaders, artists, and thinkers shaping culture
What We Stand For
Honesty over comfort

We'd rather ask a hard question than give a soft answer. Faith isn't fragile — it can handle the real stuff. We won't manufacture certainty where uncertainty is honest, and we won't soften truth to protect feelings.

Depth over speed

We're not chasing viral. We're building something worth returning to. Every piece we publish is meant to stay with you — to surface something true, not just something timely.

Community over platform

The Relevant Leader is a community, not just a media brand. The conversation in the comments, the replies to the newsletter, the connections made at the edges of the content — that's the point.

Accessible without shallow

We write for educated, thoughtful people who don't need to be talked down to. Complex ideas, clear prose. We believe the best theological and cultural writing is also the most readable.
